This information is provided pursuant to subsection 42(5A) of the Marriage Act 1961. We provide couples with this document because the decision to marry is one of the biggest decisions a couple can make. Marriage is a significant step that will bring a number of changes for you, your spouse and your family.

Section 42 of the Marriage Act 1961 (the Marriage Act) requires that a marriage shall not be solemnised unless a notice in writing of the intended marriage (this form) is given to the authorised celebrant solemnising the marriage at least 30 days prior to the marriage.
