Rabbi Gersh made us feel completely at ease on our day and his calmness and experience guided us through a beautiful, well-thought-out and personal ceremony.  He really captured our two cultural backgrounds and worked traditions from both our families into the ceremony. We were so lucky to have Gersh marry us.  One of us is Jewish and one of us is Croatian and it was important to us to have elements from each of our cultures present throughout our ceremony.  Gersh took the time to meet with us, understand what was important to us and plan a ceremony that was completely unique to us.  Gersh also welcomed us and our families to the Shtiebel in the weeks leading up to our wedding to bless us in Hebrew, Croatian and English.  That was a beautiful touch that helped to bring the families and their histories and traditions together.

We absolutely loved our wedding — and especially the ceremony. It was everything we’d hoped for and more. Our friends and family haven’t stopped talking about it; everyone shared the same sentiment: that it was beautifully crafted, deeply meaningful, respectful, thoughtfully explained, and so clearly and authentically us. Rabbi Gersh was a phenomenal partner in planning and conducting our Jewish wedding ceremony. My partner (now husband!) is not Jewish but we knew that we wanted to have a ceremony that both celebrated our partnership and honoured my Judaism. Gersh was able to help us determine which elements of tradition we wanted to incorporate and which we wanted to leave aside, creating a ceremony that was aligned with tradition yet uniquely ours. He even suggested incorporating cucumber sandwiches and Pimms (which we had on our first date) under the chuppah!  From our first meeting to discuss the ceremony to the day, Gersh put our story at the forefront and worked to honour it in the most meaningful way. Gersh was beautifully supported by Tammy Cohen, whose voice and song choices elevated the ceremony. Multiple guests told us it was the best wedding ceremony they’ve ever witnessed. We could not be more grateful or happy that Gersh could marry us and wholeheartedly recommend his heart and services!

Gersh is an incredibly thoughtful and caring Rabbi, who genuinely cares about providing the most personalised service possible. My husband and I enjoyed spending time with Gersh in the lead-up to our wedding as he took time to understand us as a couple and our connection to Judiasm. He helped us to decide which Jewish rituals we would include in our ceremony and customised everything to suit our needs. On the day, Gersh was professional and fun, ensuring that we were relaxed and had time to pause and appreciate the moment. We received so many comments from family and friends about how beautiful Gersh’s ceremony was and that it was clear that he had taken the time to get to know us.

Your calm, down-to-earth approach and understanding of what was important to us was so refreshing and special. We enjoyed meeting you leading up to the wedding. Thank you for your sensitivity, understanding, and patience and for making us feel welcome, especially with the cultural beers on a hot afternoon. You were so thorough and relaxed leading up to the day that we felt at ease knowing you would lead us every step of the way. As you mentioned, “You’re not meant to be good at this”. You made our wedding day perfect. From the emotional moment we set eyes on each other at the Bedeken to walking down the aisle and standing together under the chuppah, everything was so beautiful and perfect. Our wedding ceremony was so personal and intentional. Rabbi Gersh helped so much to guide us through all of the different ways we could incorporate traditional and meaningful moments. The outcome was a ceremony that felt so authentic to who we are, and was truly the most magical experience.
